Well. Corfu was firece.
Spence and i flew in on Wizz Air (everyone applauded the pilot when the plane landed, mutherfucker got an encore! I mean seriously, do you applaud a bus driver when he gets you to your stop? No. Ya Dont. Hes doing his freaking job.... anyways....)
And landed into the Pink Palace on Toga night. Now, for those who havent experienced a toga party at the pink palace, it goes a little like this... Well let me preface with the happy hours. Happy Hour starts at the top bar in reception at 6 and goes till 8. Dinner starts at 8 and goes till 10. Happy hour starts at the nightclub from 10 till 12. So by the time we rolled in the boys were well on their way. Let alone the fact that there was about 200 people there all in togas, equally on their way. Anyway, about 1230, these greek dancers come on, and bust a groove then shit gets real... the dudes light a table on fire and lift it in their mouths and dance around to some crazy greek tunes. After that, a dude comes out dressed as a Roman Centurian, With a bucket full of Oozo and a Ladel. Everyone gets on their knees and the dude Ladels Oozo into your mouth and then another bro breaks a plate over your head.... Firece.
Needless to say alll the boys were very pleased to see us and we proceeded to celebrate in style. So everyone gets kicked out of the nightclub at 4 am. And we decide to hit the beach. I go to grab some beers and loose the boys along the way. Anyway, i go to find em on the beach and instead come across these dudes having a beach bonfire and playing some hell guitar. I sit my drunken arse down and chill with these dudes tilll about 5 am. Somehow i managed to knock out a version of Wonderwall... how i played guitar is beyond me. I was totalled. Anyway, at about 530 i go to put another log on the fire, and a hot coal out of the middle leaps off and lands on my foot... Burning the shit out of me. I quickly run down and put it in the ocean and then head back to the room where i pass out standing up in a cold shower. Wake up about 6 am and head back to bed in my actuall bed.
Anyway. being the smart cookie i am. I dont put any betadine on it and leave it out to the elements for the next two days. Which werent that firece for nights out, mainly because everyone was soo damn sick. Like really ill. And beers were starting to become un fun. Yeah thats right. We didnt want to drink anymore. But one euro for a beer.... is just too tempting. So yeah we would hit up happy hour play a few rounds of arsehole and get on it. Much to our dismay. Anyway two nights later, I wake up in the morning having lost my wallet. With the most intense pain in my foot. When i start to stand up my whole leg buckles underneath me. Long story short, i saw a greek doctor who binds up my foot, so water and sand are off the menu. Plus antibiotics equalls 100 euro down the drain, and no ocean, no beach and no booze until i leave.
Lame.
There are a whole lot more stories i could tell but im just going to go straight to the best day we had. The day after Spence, Kristian, Jake, Tim and Soph Gallop all bailed. Me, Zotti and Chris Honey rented a car and drove around the island. We drove for 9 hours and over 160 ks. It was awesome, the car which we nicknamed the Bronco was a wild beast, and Zotts was the man for the job driving wise. We had some crazy fucking moments ey, like ascending the highest point in Corfu (1 km above sea level) on these roads, which are just wide enough for one car on a mountainside with a sheer drop on one side and a massive cliff face on the other. With oncoming traffic and blind hair pin turns, too like, Zotts going off roading on simialar track...except it was dirt and he was fishtailing it round the hairpins. To Driving 100 ks back to the town where we hired the car and getting there in just under an hour. When Zotts went the wrong way into oncoming traffic and swerved around 3 oncoming cars at nightime just out of the main town... we knew it was time to hit the hay.
it was awesome... I will post again soon kids probs from singapoure!
Much Love, this computer is about to kick me off so i hope this works!!
See u all soon!!!

Budapest
Okay so,
Budapest is really, really, really fucking cool. To be honest its in my top 3 cities in europe.
And maaannn thats a hard list to crack. Okay enough fucking around.
So, budapest, somehow managed to avoid the Nazis sorched earth policy, as i was saying in my previous blog, which means there is so much to see here. Like just your avereage buildings are really impressive let alone the actual touristy sites your supposed to see.
The opera house is beautiful, caked in gold leaf and standing three stories tall of some of the most intricate and stunning stonework i have ever seen. I guess what im trying to expess with all this stuff is the suprise factor of it all. I guess, becuase i have been through poland and slovakia where most of the beauty has been replaced by either communist concrete blocks of flats or alternatively massive steel and glass capitalist highrise bloody office blocks.
But Budapest has none of that action. All the facades of every buliding are completely intact, and thanks to the period of the Austro Hungarian Empire, all the architechture is incredible. The cathedral here is the single most impressive building i have been in in my life. And yes, i have seen the sistine chapel, St Marks in Venice, St Pauls yadda yadda yadda. I mean it doesnt take the sistine chapel roof. But thats in a leauge of its own. Look. Come to Budapest. See it for yourself. Then well talk.
Another bitching thing is the Baths. Budapest has a whole heap of natural springs. The most underneath a capital city in the world i am led to believe. The Baths themselves, well there are a couple, the main ones have an unprenounceable name...so im not even going to bother... ANYWAY. They are housed in this...well to be honest it looks like a palace. Massive place, has about 20 different pools inside, ranging in temprature from about 15 degrees to 38 degree pools. With like, medicinal pools filled with special salts and shit to like whilpools. We must have hung out there for about 3 hours. Just pool hopping. Bitchingly cool.
Its also INSANELY cheap. I mean our hostel ended up being pretty expensive. But is probably the best hostel i have ever been in. For being able to stay in one place and see a city it was top notch. The resturant across the road, for three people with drinks for a massive dinner. Cost us 12 euro! Awesome. The Party scene is pretty cool, we only went out a couple of times becuase i have been pretty sick so we waited till i got better before we hit some pubs.
But along with a couple of English lads, we hit up some really good pubs. Cheap booze, some incredible djs. One of our best nights out, we ended up coming back to the hostel with a whole heap of booze, buying glow sticks, and sitting in a hostel room in the dark, cranking up some tunes and having our own sweet little rave party at like 3 am. It was totally cool.
Ive missed so much stuff... the castle district, the pool halls, the terror museum, the worlds second biggest synagoge in the world... but all i can say is. Make some time, come to budapest. IT is totally fucking awesome. Great people, good history, culture, architechture and its cheap!
Right so today. Off to Corfu, to the pink palace. Shit is about to get real. The pink palace is the most hectic party hostel in hte world. No question. So you probably wont hear from me for the Next six days, till i am in my hostel in london. There will be a lot of stories from Corfu So get excited people!!!! In the meantime. I hope your all well, and as we draw to a close on these european adventures, have all had an epic holiday.
Get the beer on ice, and meat on the barbeque, cus everyones favourite Pat is going to be coming home soon!!!

Berlin
Ookkayyy So.
Berlin. What a cool fucking place. We arrived in reasonably high spirits and got to our hostel very easily. I say reasonably high because while the other 5 dudes were jumping around and full of hilarity, your intrepid narrator had the flu something hardcore. The phrase.. "sick as a dog" comes to mind very quickly!!
But, here we are.
So Berlin, is exceptionally cool. It has this awesome mixture of history, culture, in expensive-ness (for a capital european city) and a bitching party scene!
On the first day Kristian, Jake, Burnsie and Chun went on this massive walking tour of Berlin, while me and spence went out to just stroll around to our favourite spots. Being the hardcore travelling veterans that we are, we felt that we had kinda done Berlin and could not be fucked to go walking around listening to some american dude telling us shit we already know or couldnt be bothered to learn.
So yeah, we cruised around the Richstag, the Brandenburg Gate, The Holocost memorial and the TV tower, before spence needed to find a gym to pump his guns....
Now because by this point i was spending most of my time coughing and not being able to breathe i pretty much spent the next three days in a pub in alexanderplatz watching the cricket in an irish pub and drinking orange juice in some feeble attempt to up my vitmin C. I guess the other big thing we all did in that 4 days we were knocking around was the Pub Crawl.
11 Euro, 4 pubs and a nightclub with a free Jager shot with every drink you bought. Suffice to say it was messy. The first pub was this squat, that me and spence had spent quite alot of time at back in 06, but when we were there it was kinda edgy and aggressive for locals only its now this super touristy, mildly ritzy little beer garden. Sort of a Psudo-underground pub... Anyway from there we went to a few more bars all which kinda blurr into one and then finally we hit Matrix. Matrix is the big club in berlin for 18-25 year olds. And it was pretty bitchin, credit has to go to Spence and Kristian, both who pulled extreemly good looking american girls. I had a crack at one of their mates and got no where.... vintage Pat.
So yeah as you can imagine a night of heavy drinking didnt really do much for the immune system. So now im taking it easy till i get better in.... BUDAPEST!
Now this city is cool, me and Spence have 6 nights here!! And its so impressive, Budapest must have been one of the few cities not to get burnt to the ground by the Nazis during their retreat through eastern europe (the scorched earth policy for those playing at home) so all the buildings are still in really good condition! All the architechture is incredible. Your going to have to wait for spence to put the photos up on facebook... but yeah its seriously impressive.
The only downside is, that where i thought we had booked a four bed dorm for two people, they only have private rooms. Meaning that we have to pay for all four beds, even tho there is only two of us here. 14 euros a night for four beds, over 6 nights. You do the math. Its really really not cheap. But the city is soo cool we are kinda getting over the cost... i hope.
Anyway thats where we are at! i will blog again in a few days.

ROCK WRECHTER
Oh fuck yeah! Im now in germany and i havent blogged in ageeesss so this is going to be a BIG ONE.
Right so after amsterdam we trained it down to Mechlen in Belgium where Spencer has a family freind, a simply amazing woman called Helen. She would be in her 50s, lives alone in a nice house in Mechlen, and for simply unfathomable reasons, her idea of a good time is looking after 6 smelly, loud, hilarious and exceptionally messy boys. This woman took all our bags from the train station, walked them all to her house and made us all lunch before we had even set foot on the premisis.
She gave us food, shelter, beer and would not let us say thankyou for anything. It was incredible. Anyway we had a really nice dinner home cooked by helen, and headed off the next day in high spirrits for Wrechter!!
Well, everyone else was in high spirits. Me? I was sick as a dog. The night before we left we went and got seriously boozey at a REAL belgian beer cafe, with a fucking beer menu that was about the same thickness as War and Peace. And because we all wanted to try eachothers beers, everyone would buy one, try it, and pass it left. I happened to catch Jakes Lame asss throat thing, but because my immune system is sooo fucking down from all these beers, it manifested its self in me not being able to talk or swallow.
The boys found that a blessing in disgiuse.... ha ha fucking ha.
So sick me and happy lads headed off to the concert about an hour away on train, Rock wrechter is huge, by the end of the concert over 200 000 people would have come throught the turnstyles. At any given time there were 80 000 people camping there. It was literally like being in a city in the middle of the belgian forrtest!!
Okay Im going to go day by day, by the bands i saw, with a review attached. Ready? Here we go:
DAY ONE
EXPATRIATE: Average, every song sounds the same, but it was nice to hear some aussies making it right on the other side of the world!!
PLACEBO: Really good, the new drummer is a freak. He rocks, to understand the new album you really have to see the songs live. That said, set list construction was totally shit. 7 songs of the new album followed by about 4 off meds and then in reverse cronological order until finishing up with better taste in men and infra red as an encore!? What is this amature hour?! AND NO WITHOUT YOU IM NOTHING?!?!?!?! I expected better, but still really fucking good!
PENDULUM: AWESOME. Me spence and Kristian danced so fucking hard people came and asked us where they could buy pills! Haha. Rugs a million called me, and thanked me for cutting so many rugs, they have never had such high demand for rug replacements! New songs are awesome. Just....yeah. Wicked.
OASIS: Solid, but not thier best. They played a lot better set at Rockit the other year. So yeah. Not that bummed that i missed half of it while i was at pendulum.
THE PRODIGY: Now i didnt actually go. But the rest of the boys said they were balls to the wall awesome. ITs the prodigy. Its not like they are gonna suck!!
DAY 2:
Wait. Okay before that i need to have a bitch about some thing...
JAKE JACKSONS SNORING:
Oh my fucking god. I was sharing a tent with Jake, Tim Burns, and chris honey. Now i snore a little, Burnsie snores rythmically so its not that bigger deal. But, Jake Fucking Jackson snores like the Devil. Honest to god. without fail, WITHOUT FAIL EVERY DAY. Jake would kick into high gear at 6:05 in the morning. It was louder than oasis, and sounded like a hobgoblin being thrown down a drainpipe chained so 10 kittens covered in alfoil riding on an anvil made out of piano accordians.
I nearly Fucking Killed him. Burnsie, pissed off with Mr Hobgoblin pulled out 3 fistfulls of grass and stuck them in his mouth and nose in an effort to make the bad man stop. AND HE KEPT FUCKING GOING. JAKE JACKSON IS THE DEVIL! AAAAAAAAARRRRGGGGGGGGGGHHH.
....Anyway, back to the music.
DAY 2:
ELBOW: I like Elbow. Good band. The songs didnt come across to well on the main stage, they too chilled and kinda intamate... except for Grounds for Divorce. Which was fucking awesome. That song is just a cut above everything else on The Seldom Seen Kid. It Rocked.
BLOC Party: So, So, So good. I really enjoyed them. Banquet, helicopter, hunting for witches all went off! They are a really great band and Kele Ocerici or however you spell it is an epic front man. We danced up a storm!
THE KILLERS: Sooooo average. SO AVERAGE. My god, LEARN TO WRITE A SETLIST. What are you like 8 years old? They opened with 8 tracks off the new album. 8!!! THE NEW ALBUM IS SHIT BRANDON! ARE YOU DEAF?! Its like they didnt even care what the audience thought or how they played. Let down of the festival. Easily.
COLDPLAY: Wow. Band of the festival. Chris martin had the audience in his palm from teh moment he stepped on stage and started violet hill. Great set. Violet hill, yellow, clocks, vida la vida, Fix you. Seriously, if you can find a video of yellow at rock wrechter 09. Watch it. They were amazing. 10 out of 10.
DAY 3:
YEAH YEAH YEAHs: Suprise packet of the tournament. Karen O is ssooo hot. and totally fucking insane. Like... offf her fucking rocker. They really worked hard to put ona good show. and i appriciated it. They were really good. Gold Lion and Maps were highlights!!
MOGWAI: Were cool, but not really my thing. THe main memory of that is, a little twister appeared out of nowhere just outside the tent where mogwai were playing!! Throwing rubbish and depris into the air. One bit of wood hit a guy in the back of the head and he was out for the count!! Full on!
NICK CAVE AND THE BAD SEEDS: Awesome. FUCKING AWESOME!! Im not the biggest Nick Cave fan, but Ollie Ackland told me that seeing them changed his life, so i was so keen and they really didnt disappoint. Its like, Nick Cave is a freind of yours right, who is going Man, i have just found this band, you have to check em out!!! and it just so happens that the band he is talking about is his. He wants you to like the songs so much and really really tries to show you how great the songs are. Let alone the fact that all the band are in thier 50s and have beards to their arses and still rock out 1928349018 times harder than the Lame arse fucking Killers! Nick cave is the man.
Kings of Leon:... Nuff Said.
DAY 4:
SEASICK STEVE: Sooo cool, i love seasick steve. Him and his drummer rocked the fuck out. Bluesed that shit up. Dog House Boogie is one of my favourite songs going around. What a dude.
THE MARS VOLTA: Crazy as usual. Krams really enjoyed it. But it started to piss down with rain so i had to bail back to the campsite to ensure all our stuff was in the tent so i missed half of it. Its Volta. their nuts.
Unfortuneately i fell alseep for Black eyed peas... Shame
Actually i slept through Kaiser Chiefs as well!! Bummer.
NINE INCH NAILS: AWESOME. ITS NINE INCH NAILS! Hurt, was wicked as was head like a hole!!
METALLICA: Wow, way to pull a killers and plug your new album till its dead. I consider myself a Metallica fan and i knew 2 sngs in the first hour. All that shit from Death Magnetic and St Anger with a liitle justice for all?? Fuck off. Give me a set of The unforgiven, nothing else matters, Master of puppets, Fade to Black, I Dissappear! They played nothing else matters and master of puppets and they both went off! Cyanide? Who gives a flying fuck about CYANIDE?!?!
Jesus James Hetfeild. Dont make me come over there!!
So yeah that was the bands. Heaps of other crap happened but i cant be bothered to blog it. I had a blonde moment in Brussels airport and left my card in an atm and hopefully mastercard will send me a replacement tomorrow!! In berlin Now, fuck i love berlin its the coolest city. Have spent the day with spence rockin around the burbs. Went to the Richstag and the brandenburg gate... still need lunch actually...
